The north - east of Brazil is one of the poorest areas of the country: illiteracy, high child mortality and missing income characterise the region. The Northeast conprises 9 Federal States, including those where our goods are produced as Bahia, Ceará and Pernambuco.
The name BAHIA shows the origin of the products and also refers to the composure and casualness of the Brazilian people.
As a symbol of the lifestyle there we present in this picture a jangada" (say: schangáda), a traditional natural produced fishing boat in Ceará. Thousands of families earn their living from fishing. At night they recover often from their hard work in hammocks - till today.
